MG Astray Blue Frame Second Revise WIP 1

alright.. time to start building this kit.. first of all.. lets check out the box art and the content (the runners and the other part like premium item).. the runners and manual is pretty interesting.. but lazy to scan the manual..

mm.. the front of the box.. i feel the boxart is a bit lame.. it should have some dynamic pose for this gundam.. mirage astray on the back.. will it indicate that there will be a MG version for mirage astray soon?.. hehe..
the most interesting part of the box.. show the function of the weapon for this gundam.. and also the content..
the stand for the tactical arm is included.. flexible articulation for this kit base on the box..

the most interesting part.. special premium item.. i remember someone told me this kit doesn't come with the special premium part for those that sell in low price.. i was like.. forget about it.. i don't really care this premium item since i'm not planning to swap the backpack.. but then.. this kit at low price in my country come together with it.. so.. feel a bit delight..

manual for the premium item..
this is the runner for the premium item..

22 runners come in this kit which include the two polycap runners, premium item and the stand for tactical arm 2..

when i assemble this kit.. what i'm realize is all the parts have been arrange nicely in the runners.. lets say if the some part require 4 different color molded part.. all part that same color will come in one runners.. as for the head is a bit different as what i show from the picture above.. it is the runner 'A' and the part inside the red box are all the part for the head unit.. of course there is one more polycap part from the polycap runners..

alright.. one weird thing i notice here is this kit have two polycap runners.. it is twins.. why not make it together.. is that for future runners rearrange purpose?
runner for the stand.. it is a stand for 1/144 scale model but in here.. it special made for the tactical arm 2..

bling bling.. the dark grey color or black grey parts.. what ever it call.. i'm just love this color.. it is a metalic type painting.. at first i thought i want this color in gun metal (try some new stuff).. but since it already metalic painted.. then i will just leave it..

actually i'm in the middle of assembling process.. have reach the part for legs.. what i'm realize this kit was.. it is not like an normal MG.. reason is because normal MG will have their frame inside and cover by plate armor whereas Astray have most of its inner frame expose out and only few plate armor cover it up.. so i don't feel much different of assembling the MG version or the NG 1/100 version.. but there are some significant different for this MG version is it come with a lot of detail and the articulation is improve a lot as what i seen from the box.. i guess most of the problem from NG 1/100 version may resolve..

so.. what am i plan for this kit.. this time i'm not going to just snap and fit the parts.. i'm thinking of painting..

-first.. metalic blue with glossy top coat on most of the blue color parts..

-second.. mat top coat on most of the white color part..

-third.. black panel line.. i was wondering how to apply panel line on the part after painting.. if i some mistake there.. will i able to correct it?. and will i spoil the paint if i rub off the panel line on top of the paint? what types of tool suitable to rub? really need some help here..

-fourth.. decals and marking

i guess that all for what i want to do on this kit.. hope i have time to collect my money and compressor..

to be continue..

this month loot

spend quite a lot this month.. one MG kit which is MG Astray Blue Frame Second Revise and Sd aegis from Litt Tak warehouse sales.. the MG Astray was cost at RM 158 and come with the limited premium gift inside.. the special back pack to be exact.. then.. the Sd aegis was cost at RM 15.. i do saw some other kit was in great deal too.. like MG Sazabi was cost at RM 264.. then the HGUC Blue destiny was at RM 20.. and MG Sword Impulse at RM 140.. too bad i have not much budget for this month.. my friend that went to the Litt Tak warehouse sales bought one MG Zeta Ver.2 HD version which only cost RM 165.. i told him not to wait.. quite a great deal.. last time i bought my MG Zeta Ver.2 with no HD version cost me RM 165 too..

the other stuff that i bought was the BB Senshi Sangokuden Kyoui Gundam F91 (RM 22), Mr.Hobby Surfacer 1000 (RM 19), and Mr.color metalic blue (RM 8).. and the tiny compressor with airbrush which cost me RM 263 if i.m not remember wrong.. but have no time to collect the compressor yet.. so no picture show the compressor.. total spending.. RM 485.. half of my salary gone..

trying to get some tools for paint.. i'm planning to paint my MG Astray.. but don't know how to use the compressor.. just start pre-building it today.. hope to get the compressor soon.. so any tips of teaching me how to mix those paint and thinner for airbrush paint?.. especailly the amount of the mixture.. i'm seriously need help here..

MG Crossbone X-1 FullCloth complete

finally i finish upload all the pictures for this Crossbone.. i'm not sure is there a problem with the uploader or my laptop or the files size of the picture is too big.. so it took me few days to upload.. sorry for the late update.. first.. lets talk about the camera i use for this time..

so this time.. able to get the demo unit for few days to create some good photo.. oops.. i mean the camera.. get two most high end semi-pro series DSLR which is the Canon EOS5D Mk2 with kit lens EF24-105mm L IS USM and Canon EOS 7D also with the latest kit lens EFS18-135mm IS.. damn both camera performance are totally unbelievable..

first talk about this Canon EOS 7D.. this is the camera i use most for this album.. reason?. i like the grip and the weight.. better than Canon 5D Mk2 as my opinion.. this camera not as heavy as Canon 5D Mk2 with its kit lens.. the 18 AF-point really flexible and help a lot.. part of that.. using ISO 1600 with the help of Dual DIGIC 4 processor for noise reduction.. shutter at 1/40 in my room with dull light really not a problem anymore.. i'm not fully utilize all the function inside for this album.. there is one more thing i have to add here is the white balance.. can adjust either by using the 'K' number or 4 axis color.. so nice.. but some of the photos got some weird white balance due to i'm lazy to fine the suitable one and i feel the auto white balance a bit not satisfy for me..

so.. here we go.. the legend.. Canon 5D Mk2 with kit lens EF-24-105mm L IS USM.. i use this camera took about 30 photos in this crossbone album and i feel damn tired of holding it.. actually i have try the old version with the same kit lens before for some golf photograph and it was so tired due to the weight of the lens.. but one thing for sure Canon EOS 7D can't replace it is the color production by the full frame CMOS.. you don't have to use Dual DIGIC 4 but you still get the low noise level photo when using ISO 1600.. white balance can adjust by 'K' number.. the color is unbelievable nice especailly combine with the L lenses.. time to view the kit photos..

the normal posing is just cool enough.. but the weight of the cloth always become an issue for posing.. the weapon carry a lot of weight too.. the clip just can't support the crossbow nicely and always fall down..

look at the depth of field.. this picture was taken by the 5D Mk2.. so can't use small aperture to reduce the depth of field due to no speed-lite available for me and there is no build in pops-up flash in the camera..

first action pose i made actually.. quite disappointed.. all the part of the cloth is a bit fragile and keep on falling down.. especially part of the cloth that attach near the cockpit..

a great sword with weird beam shape.. what an fun weapon to paly with because the sword can actually hold like a lance..

showing the painted part from the core fighter..

 my favorite shots..

pirate pistol.. look weird but fun.. the way it hold was quite close MG shin musha rifle..but this is the shorter version..

side kick.. i should make it perform with the knife come out from the leg.. lazy..
 pirate blade..

change camera to 7D and use small aperture with flash to focus all.. too bad there is shadow here..
using wrong white balance.. can't match flash.. i should use about 5000k but i use only 4500k..
this is my favorite weapon in this kit actually.. i think i have mention it from the previous post.. pirate beam blade combine with pirate pistol and become some kind of sub-machine gun..
the hook.. i try to copy the pose from Z but the ball joint is too loose.. so i have to use to angle to make it look dynamic and the hook look longer..

the shield is another interesting part.. hard to assemble in but easy to pose with it..

this is the weapon that i not pose too.. i have no idea how to make the paln hold this.. any tips?

alright.. thats all for this kit.. hope you guys who read this enjoy.. critic and comment are welcome.. first time i said this..
